This is my entry for the Vector-Clubs first competition, to Introduce myself.

I have alwasy thought of drawing with Illustrator as drawing with digital threads, intricately weaving and pulling each line, bending and flexing the arc to produce the image. I like it, there's a ceremony invloved. Like weaving a spell.

Anyway, portrait, et al; in Illustrator 10, fx in Photoshop. About 3 hours.
Large dimensions (1600x1200), not too big file-wise (approx 475k). Check it out at fullsize folks.

A magnificent analogy, and I love the way you've pulled it off... He (or should I say you?) reminds me a fit of the myth of the Fates - weaving the thread, measuring it, and cutting off when life ends. Or maybe like Pygmalion, crafting his dream, his love. At any rate it's beautiful...And I may be insane but I love the stories it calls up in my mind, even if they weren't intentional. Your brushstrokes especially are slick and appealing, and the cool colours make it look at once modern and digital, and old-fashioned, like sculpted marble. I love it.

i love the concept behind this. the analogy works very well, and the way you've illustrated it is brilliant. it took me few minutes to figure out what he was creating there, but i once i could see her the image became so much better. this is such an intelligent, creative, and well-crafted piece.

Once I saw what he was creating I had to favorite this. Superb Concept and execution man...dope piece..
