My entry for the Stephen Harper Portrait Gallery.
I heard about Harper shortly after Obama's victory, and "Who? was my first and only thought. After reading up on his policies, however, I think "Who?" will be the general thought generations from now, even in Canada -- as history tends to forget the mediocre and unremarkable. I chose to emulate Shepard Fairey's Obama poster as I think its hard not to compare the new leaders and the national zeitgeist of our two nations -- and Fairey's iconic poster is an easy vehicle with which to do that.
