So here is the final of the piece I did the walk-through tutorial for. I'm really pleased with this -- its rare that I get something like this straight from my own sketchbooks without additional reference so I'm double stoked.

love the whole thing - this post along with the two step by steps you previously posted - I also enjoyed your rant on what illustration is and how most school time projects are about learning TECHNIQUES not about doing photo realistic cars for thier own ends. I do do a bit of instruction manual type drawings in my work but that is the most "realistic" illustration I have ever cone for work.

As far as this piece you have inspired me to dig into the brush pallet and start experimenting in there.
