2 Weeks to NYC

Fri Sep 28, 2007, 8:14 AM

I'm gonna be heading to New York for the PDN PhotoExpo in a couple weeks! I have never been to NYC before, so I am super excited. Suggestions for restaurants (not too extravagant), or boutiques to check out?

I am already set on checking out The Future Perfect, Canal Street, and Seize Sur Vingt. Also, I heard Misshapes is done? What a bummer!

I think I am seeing either MSTRKRFT or M.I.A. while I am there, as well. Possibly both.

LCD Soundsystem Pano

In other news, I saw Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem a couple nights ago (INCREDIBLE!!!!) and tonight I am seeing The Bravery and (the ersatz) Smashing Pumpkins . So excited!

I have no advice, since I am heading out to NYC for the first time in December for work, though I'll have a day or two to myself. So you'll have to report on any cool places you find after you get back!
Ahh Smashing Pumpkins, I saw them setting up for that one at school today. I love Smashing Pumpkins, but between Rilo Kiley, Muse, wanting to see Regina Specktor and Interpol in 2 weeks along with Damien Rice too...you just got to pick and choose...Hope it was a good show! UVSC is really smart to try to bring in all these shows especially as they prepare to go to University status, great way to advertise.
P.S. NYC is great, been there a few times...I, of course, do not know the in and outs, but the Met is always a must as I am sure you already know. I don't know how many hours I have spent in there cumulatively..but its still not enough. If your a Pollock fan, its a meca.
Oh for sure -- a really smart thing they could also try, is like, you know, advertising these shows. They just lost interpol cause thy didnt do anything to promote it. So now its at In The Venue.

And I am huge Pollock fan, so we will MOS DEF be stopping by!
